This group hasn't been too active lately, and I think it's time we spice things up around here. Now that we're organized and this group is running smoothly, a contest sounds like a great reward, no?

Since June 23, 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog has become one of the most popular video game characters of all time. So popular, that he's been included in all kinds of media (Cartoons, Anime, Movies, Comics, Merchandising, ext.), not to mention that he even has a hedgehog gene named in his honor. Throughout these years, his appearance (though not too much of his attitude) has changed. As a Sonic Fan group, we love to emphasis the importance of his history; how he was back then to this very day. To accommodate this, the contest will be all about COMPARING from then to now.

This contest will emphasize the change Sonic the Hedgehog has undergone. The goal is to submit a picture (or other forms of artwork) that contains at least TWO of the different forms of Sonic the Hedgehog. Whether that be his 8-bit gaming character to the detailed version that we currently have now, or his Archie self with his anime self, all are accepted!

Rules/Guidelines

*At least TWO generations (or more)  MUST be included in this picture. If you have Sonic, another version of himself has to be there. You can include multiple characters (such as sonic and tails), so long as their generational counterparts are in. Keep in mind, Sonic HIMSELF doesn't have to be in the picture.
                 
*You can choose from any form of media Sonic or his friends appear in, so long as you point out which generation and which media form that character design comes from (i.e, which game/television/movie/comic)? We ask that the generations/designs aren't too close with each other, as the comparison will become harder to judge.

*You may also compare and combine scenery's as you wish, so long as you point out where the scenery comes from, and at least one Sonic character is portrayed.

Judging

The pictures will be judged based on the following:

*Style: Could you incorporate both styles from the generations you picked? Or did you use your own style to remain consistent? We'll be looking for either a good blend of the characters you picked OR how well you used your own style.

*Flow: Do the generations go well together? Just how do the characters interact? The more accurate their reactions and the actions of the piece, the better.

*Theme: Does the premise of the picture fit with what is asked of in the guidelines? We want to see Sonic SHIFT, not two of the same characters.

Prize Time!

We're still a pretty small group, so the prizes of this contest are short, but oh so VERY sweet.

*Third place winner, the lovely will draw you a sketch of your choice (Sonic fandom or no) for free and 200 DA points from

*Second place winner will earn a full lineart, Sonic or not, and 500 DA points from

*First place winner will receive a full bodied image, with either flat or full coloring of the character of your choice and 1000 DA points from

We hope to be able to add on to the prizes that we've presented before the end of this contest. Though we may not have much, we certainly have the spirit!

This contest ENDS May 31st, so we've got two months to receive some awesome entries! Again, we'd like to fit in a small reminder that (due to being a contest) ALL entries must be submitted into the contest folder. If it's not in the right folder, we won't be able to judge it, which would suck; 'cause we like seeing good artwork.
